Don’t get me wrong. I failed myself as well, but then I’m not someone who went to college for 4+ years to be trained in the medical profession and diagnose people with mental disorders. I am a soldier, a decorated combat veteran. Pop culture tells us combat is supposed to be “emotionally difficult” at best, “psychologically crippling” at worst. I’m SO MAD because part of the reason I broke up with my ex was because of him inviting his flirty coworker R to his birthday party and having no issue with her giving half the guys at the party a (clothed) lap dance with the awful friend she brought along. I have a long day of interning as a school social worker where I get to hear all the heartache in those poor children’s lives.
