I have a friend that is keen on going back with her ex boyfriend, thinking that they will be more than friends. She tells me and others they’re just friends. Lately my friends have not really been…well my friends. I was asked if I wanted to go somewhere today and then never heard anything back from anybody. I even cleared up all my plans for tonight just so I could hand with them. Show’s how much I’m wanted…
I found out I was pregnant in 2010, the day after Christmas. My now husband (then fiance) and I were surprised, but okay. I was 21, he was 22. Young, but manageable. My friends were excited, said they stick with me, no matter what. August hits, my son is finally born. Friends all visit in the hospital. I have not seen any of them, save for two, since that day. I try to text, call, chat on facebook… Seems all my friends are gone.

I bailed on my friends birthday. Long story, but I don’t have any ID, and she wanted to go out clubbing. I didnt want to get refused into places (and then for everyone else to not be able to go in too) so I told her I was ill. I was trying to make sure she had a good birthday. Every single friend I’ve ever made bar 1, I’ve gradually lost touch with and I dont even feel that guilty about it :S Every time I move schools/work, I make new friends, then I move on and make no effort to keep hold. Maybe I’m just not meant to have friends. Why does that not worry me more?
Over the past couple of months, I’ve felt my friends growing distant to me. However, today I discovered private messages from them all where they are bitching relentlessly about me, making fun of my family and deliberately excluding me from all birthdays, cinema trips and after school meet ups. What do I do? Do I confront them directly?

Oh, no. That’s cool. Just essentially tell me to fuck off when I try to talk to you. Yup, that’s what friends are for. Simple solution for being an asshole: if you don’t have any reason at all to be a cranky little twit, then don’t be. If you absolutely insist on being a grouch, at least have the decency to not take it out on your best friends.
