Just need to get this out so I can continue my day. I work alone at a business where my boss is in another city. They pay the bills for everything to run here but I take care of everything. My boss keeps paying things late and I have to be the one to apologize to vendors and clients, and he won’t take responsibility and it pisses me off. We get deliveries of a certain product monthly that must be paid monthly, and this is the second month it wasn’t paid and I didn’t get my delivery (which I NEED to keep things running). The first time I emailed him and told him they weren’t delivering for nonpayment, and he said he mailed the check and that meant it wasn’t his problem (in so many words). Well how the hell is it my problem?? I had to call another employee to pay it because I don’t have a company card.

So this time the vendor swaggers into my office and tells me no payment no delivery again, throwing me some sassy looks to boot, and again the boss says he mailed the check so not his problem. Turns out he mailed it 5 days before the delivery was due and they didn’t get it in time. I have to make the calls and figure all this shit out myself because the guy handling accounts won’t handle the freaking accounts. I’m also the one with mud on my face when we haven’t paid a subcontractor for SIX MONTHS even though I keep sending them the invoices and late payment notices and shit and NO ONE RESPONDS. They’re cheapskates, too. I’m gonna say it. I haven’t said it, but I’m saying it here. It makes me maaaaad because they won’t consult me on projects they decide to start, even though I’m carrying them out and half the time these things aren’t even doable, and I say PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST but they continue to just do their own thing and then dump it in my lap last minute. And they say, “oh, work a little too much? We should get you an intern!” and I say, “great that would be awesome” and then realize that means I have to post the ad, do the interviewing, draw up the agreement, do the hire, and train the intern and they are virtually silent. I am not trained in human resources, btw. At all. Flying by the seat of my pants. I thought they were trying to make things easier but hiring that intern was just MORE work and now kind of moot, except to say that I did it on a resume. And they wouldn’t pay her either. No contribution from them what-so-ever, why did they even suggest it? So I buy her lunch out of my own paycheck, because that’s bullshit.

I feel pretty much abandoned at this office, but I like my job when the boss isn’t involved and so I don’t know what to do about those feelings except get angry, rant and then move on, I guess. Just sucks balls. Thanks for listening guys (if you did! Wouldn’t blame if not! HA)
