WTF!
This is the second time.
What is the point of people holding contracts insisting on our giving WRITTEN notice if they never pay attention to the written notice we give them?
We gave our 1 month notice at our apartment by telling the property manager, calling and leaving voicemails, and sending a letter with our final rent check. They got the final rent check ’cause they cashed it, but must have ignored the letter inside, ’cause 2 weeks after we moved out, they sent us a letter, demanding we pay for a month of missed rent since we never gave them written notice.
We got our mobile internet from Vodafone in Germany. When we were going to move back to the States, we went to the company where signed up for it, Medimax. They sent us to the Vodafone kiosk in the mall. They told us to call. They told us to send a letter, giving written notice.
So we did.
Now, a month after coming back, they send us a text message asking for our new account information so they can keep taking money from us.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reminds me when I tried to quit my job. I found work somewhere else and figured I should give a two weeks notice. I went to a manager that sent me to human resources where I was told I had to fill out some papers and someone would get them to me. Every day I’d show up early so I could get my papers, and every day I’d get some excuse to try later. After 8 days of the run around I cussed out a manager and they let me go that day. These places will lie and say just about anything to get their way. You held up your end of the deal, don’t sweat it just be done with it…don’t pay them a cent more.Post a confession or rant now! I can relate to the Vodafone one. Tried to bill me for 7 months of service charges despite not only signing for the cancellation letter I sent them via recorded delivery AND sending me a confirmation letter detailing the termination of service (I was outside my contractual obligations)
