I ran into my “best friend” from high school whom I haven’t really spoken to since I got married 5 years ago. Shes your typical I’m hot, most popular type of girl. I like to refer to her as the ‘Kim Kardashian wanna be’ since that is exactly who she is trying to be like.

I ran into her the other day in a restaurant, well she sat down at the table behind us. I just tried to hide from her and pretend like I didn’t notice. I’m not the skinny mini I was in high school, I’ve been married, had a kid and am about 190 now with a double chin that i absolutely despise.

Then it looked like she was trying to take a picture of me discreetly with her phone. WTF!? why so she could make fun of me for being overweight?

Anyways I ended up leaving the restaurant without saying a word to her and then feeling that the whole thing was so awkward (which it so was). Even my husband noticed the tension.

I’ve always felt so inferior to her and the whole group we hung out with in high school. The Beautiful crowd that always had everything since mommy and daddy were rich and gave their children everything. I on the other hand had to work for what I wanted. I guess there is a bit of jealously there on my side as well.

I dont know if there is some kind of “beef” between us that I am not aware of, but whatever. I’ve tried to be nice and ask how she is, etc, but I am always ignored, not to be paid attention to. I try to have the “F**K it” attitude but that is kind of difficult when your also self conscious about the way you look and who you are. Especially when she is very pretty and popular and I feel like a heifer who is in a new mommy slump and maybe trying to hard to be pretty.

Now the self conscious side of me is more prominent that the “F**K it” side but if my other side could come out full force and take over the self conscious side this is what it would tell that girl from high school.

” I may be over weight, I may have a double chin, and some acne, my hair isn’t always on ‘Fleek’ but you know what I don’t care. I have a beautiful baby boy and a husband who loves me for me. I’ve been married for 7 wonderful years and I see no end to our marriage. What do you have? You have your looks and can’t get out of the partying mode that you were in, in your 20’s. You were married and divorced all in the same year, and immediately went back to an old high school fling. I see you and your friends make fun of people who have muffin tops in the background of your pictures and I think to myself how sad you must be to have to put people down all of the time. Yes, you are beautiful and your skin is perfect but deep down you are not happy. I see through all of your smiling selfies and see a sad woman who is alone. Maybe if you stopped being so narcissistic and materialistic you could meet a real guy who loved you for who you are, and you could be happy. As much as I wish that for you, I have a feeling that is not going to happen any time soon.
