If you want decent customer service in any retail establishment, pick the ones that are located near blue collar neighborhoods. The reason for this is that they are drawing their clerk employment pool from those neighborhoods, and blue collar kids learn what service means - and its importance to job security - from a much earlier age than suburban kids.

I work in a high traffic service department where I schedule service calls for technicians to perform various services at our clients’ homes.
We get extremely busy and are often understaffed at our busiest times of the year.
Since my workplace is in an office, and the main medium of communication with customer is via telephone, the customers don’t realize how busy it gets.

Just got off the phone with a telemarketer, I said hello after picking up the phone and no thank you before hanging up (it was an unpleasant experience). I have had it today with small children in public spaces! Everywhere I have gone today there have been annoying children. First stop just pushing my cart into the store a small child darts out. If I had not reacted he would have been smacked in the head with my cart. Instead of redirecting the child, the mother and father then allowed the younger sister to dart over to the child and both blocked my way from entering the store. maybe you dont get a tip or a cheap one because you suck at your job, i have been served by some of the worst out there and i make sure they know it, i expect a smile at least and a thank you, and stay the hell away until i’m done eating, i have had some great people serve me also and i tip very well, service is not what it used to be, anywhere
If I get another $5 dollar tip for massaging someone for an hour or more, I am going to blow my lid. We live in a country where it is an accepted practice, so if you can’t afford the tip, stay the hell at home. This also goes out to restaurant customers, 15-20% is standard. If you can’t tip or those ass clowns who “Don’t believe in tipping”, stay home and cook yourself a grilled cheese. And don’t lie about it either; “I left it on the table” or “the room” Karma my friends. Now I feel better.
